Amir H. Fallah
documentary
Project Narrative
Amir H. Fallah, commissioned by Jaded Digital, is a window into the artist’s lifelong exploration into portraiture and identity as a “hybrid of being Iranian and American.”
Born in 1979, the year of the Iranian revolution, Amir’s time in his home country and subsequent immigration to America initiated him into a lifelong role of navigating east and west, old and new - all themes explored in his art.
This film examines the global and cultural forces that shaped his work through an introspective first person narrative. By visually presenting Amir obstructed through his own art, the film expands on Amir’s own exploration of what it means to create a portrait and how he wields his art to sift through his own identity and leave behind an empowering message for other cultural hybrids.
