Project Narrative

In Transit is a visual meditation about the act of travel.
As Alain de Botton famously mused, “Few places are more conducive to internal conversations than a moving plane, ship or train.”

In Transit is about the quiet moments in between - waiting at the station, watching the light and shadows change in anticipation of boarding, wondering where they are going, what their aspirations are...

It is about the transcendence of staring off into the darkness of a tunnel, or hearing the click of the machine as it emits your ticket into the unknown. About the ideas that arise and take shape as your mind drifts off while watching the waves crash. The percolating of thoughts in those moments of journeying and the stir of ideas that appear out of nowhere, days or years after a trip taken.

As Mr. Botton so elegantly said..”at the end of hours of train-dreaming, we may feel we have been returned to ourselves - that is, brought back into contact with emotions and ideas of importance to us.”
